Mission

Mission

To improve the health and well-being of underserved and vulnerable communities by delivering inclusive, evidence-based, and sustainable health and community development interventions; strengthening local capacity; promoting health education and prevention; empowering individuals and communities; and building strategic partnerships that advance equitable and sustainable development.

What "Health for a Smile" means

Our slogan reflects our belief that good health, dignity, empowerment, and opportunity are essential foundations for a life of hope, happiness, and sustainable development.

How we work

Four principles that guide every activity

  • Inclusive

We design activities so they reach people through everyday services, without singling anyone out.

  • Evidence-based

We build simple evaluation into our activities from the start, so decisions follow what we observe.

  • Sustainable

We strengthen capacity that already exists in a community rather than working around it.

  • In partnership

We work with government, civil society, researchers and communities toward shared, accountable goals.
